Ellen’s Run, an annual 5k (3.1-mile) race, is the signature fundraiser for the Foundation and an innovative, grassroots event that raises awareness about breast cancer. Held on the East End of Long Island, where breast cancer diagnosis and mortality rates are among the highest in the state, Ellen’s Run draws on the strength of the community and gives back to the community in the form of local projects. Proceeds from Ellen’s Run support the Ellen Hermanson Breast Center at Southampton Hospital by funding state-of-the-art technology such as digital mammography equipment. Ellen’s Run also supports Ellen’s Well, a program that provides psychosocial support for breast cancer survivors under the leadership of a specially trained certified social worker.
Ellen’s Run is a family event, aimed at both serious runners—women and men alike—and casual runners, as well as walkers and supporters of all ages. It engenders camaraderie and community as participants support or memorialize a loved one. Breast cancer survivors are recognized and applauded for their courage. A special prize is awarded to the first breast cancer survivor to finish the race. Those who have been touched by the disease or the specter of the disease have the chance to take a positive step.

Parrish Memorial Hall: 265 Herrick Road at Lewis Street, Southampton, NY.
Coming from West of Southampton:
Take Route 27 East to the blue hospital “H” sign. At the intersection of North Sea Road in Southampton, turn right at the traffic light (there is a 7-Eleven store at the intersection). Proceed through four traffic lights and at the fifth traffic light turn left onto Meeting House Lane and go directly to the hospital.
Coming from East of Southampton:
Take Route 27 West to the light at the intersection at Hampton Road, just past the Princess Diner. Go straight at that light and follow Hampton Road to the blue hospital “H” sign at Old Town Road. Turn left on Old Town Road. After two blocks, turn right on Meeting House Lane to the hospital.
